

Charles Milton Baker was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Milton Lelus and Laura Ann Baker on June 26, 1931. He passed away peacefully on May 10, 2014. Milton grew up in Malvern, Arkansas and was a graduate of Malvern High School Class of 1949. He then attended UALR. After serving in the Korean War he returned and married his college sweetheart Elaine Davis. They moved to Houston, Tx and he attended U of H. He had a long career as an accountant at B&R Construction and retired from there after many years of service. He then began a second career as a small business owner, later forming the tax accounting business, Milton Baker & Associates. He continued the business that he loved until his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Elaine D. Baker, his parents M.L. & Laura Baker, grandparents Frank & Olive Pumphrey, Robert & Emma Baker, sons in law, Tim Porter & Matt Phillips.
He is survived by his daughters Lisa B. Porter, Caron B. Phillips & sister Beth B. Stuart (Steve). Grandchildren Kiley P. Stowe (Paul), Darin McDaniel (Amber), Blair Porter (Aubany) and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his wife’s sisters and their husbands, many nieces & nephews and his very special friend Martha Williford.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, May 16, 2014 at Bellaire United Methodist Church, 4417 Bellaire Blvd. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Rockport Cemetery Care Fund Assoc. P.O. Box 182, Malvern, Arkansas 72104-0182.
