

A native Houstonian, Charles Holman Young was born on October 23, 1942 and passed away August 23, 2015 at Colonial Oaks Memory Care Home. His parents Stuart Sylvester Young and Alita Pearl Holman Young predeceased him.
Charles graduated from Bellaire Senior High in 1961 and earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston in 1967. He spent his career in power engineering with Brown and Root and later with Reliant Energy and served in the U.S. Army in the Ammunition Engineering Directorate/Ariel Mine Laboratory at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, New Jersey during the Viet Nam War. Charles was a long time member of Bellaire United Methodist Church where he served two terms as Chair of Trustees. He also served as Vice-Chair of the City of Bellaire Planning and Zoning Commission and in his leisure time enjoyed woodworking, sailing, classical music and working in his yards.
He is survived by his wife Pamela Fensch Young and a loving extended family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26 from 5-8 p.m. at Earthman’s Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris, Bellaire, TX. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 27 at 2 p.m. at Bellaire United Methodist Church, 4417 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, TX 77401. Memorials may be sent to Amazing Place, 3735 Drexel, Houston, TX 77027 or to Bellaire United Methodist Church.
