

Dr David Vladmir Kolnick, 79, died on June 26, 2026. He is survived by Phyllis Kolnick; his children Clinton (Kim), Leanne (Shawn), and Shaun (Jamie); and his beloved grandchildren Myra and Prianna Jackson and Zachary, Evan and Zoey Kolnick. He is remembered by his younger siblings: Justin Kolnick and Anita Plett.
David was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the eldest son of Ellie and Esther Kolnick. He was an Old Grey and qualified in dentistry at Witwaterstrand University. He worked as a dentist for 50 years, during which time he provided continuous volunteer dental services to the E.P. Children's Home children and Nazarus House.
Beyond his professional life, David was an avid bridge player, lawn bowler and joke teller. He cared deeply about his family and his faith.
The graveside funeral will be held at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet Street, Houston, TX 77074, on Monday, June 29th, at 3pm. The service will be officiated by Rabbi Yossi Zaklikofsky.
A celebration of life with open visitation will follow from 5:30pm to 8pm at the Jacksons': 4125 Glenshire Street, Houston, TX 77025. The Maariv service, led by Rabbi Joshua Fixler, will begin at 7pm.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Aishel House.
