

Dona Marie Mehlhaff passed away on July 24, 2011 at the age of 80. Dona was born on September 18, 1930 and grew up in Mobridge, South Dakota. She graduated from Mobridge High School and married the man she was destined to be with for 62 years right out of high school. Together they served UCC churches in Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois, Georgia and South Dakota. She also worked as his secretary for many years before working in hospitals in both Nebraska and Texas as a Unit Secretary. She was a true minister’s wife. She was helpful, caring and loving not only to her family but to all. To many she was an angel. She was stricken by Alzheimer’s disease over 15 years ago and it ultimately led to her death. Her husband, Rev. Edwin Mehlhaff, her parents and seven of her brothers and sisters passed before her. Surviving her are her children, Karla Coleman, Wynn Mehlhaff (Sheila), Debra Nealey (Roosevelt) and Drew Mehlhaff (Eddie); grandchildren, Stephanie Mack (John), Kasi Coleman, Richard Pollard (Beatrice), Terese Pollard and Lindsay Beil (Andy); and great grandchildren, Elisha, Alexis and JR Mack, brother Jim Heil and dear friend and sister in law Darlene Heil and numerous nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Plymouth United UCC, beginning at 2:00 PM (5927 Louetta Rd., Spring, TX 77379, 281-251-8147).
In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been set up at Plymouth or you may contribute to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
