Dorothy Louise Rosamond, widely known as Dot, passed away peacefully and quietly in her sleep the morning of Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the age of 75. Originally from Waxahachie, TX, she was an Alvin resident for over 50 years. At various points a teacher at Alvin High School and an employee of Texaco, Dot was a mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and great and loyal friend to far too many to count. A tireless volunteer for many local and national organizations, Dot was devoted to her family and friends, and was filled with life, love, and energy for all she came in contact with. Boundlessly creative and filled with great good humor, Dot will be dearly missed. She is survived by three sons and six grandchildren: Greg Trafton of Burke, VA and his children Elena, Maia, and Jack, Scott Trafton of Columbia, SC and his daughter Lena, and Michael Trafton of Austin, TX and his children Owen and Meredith.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 2pm, at the home of Jim and Joy Edwards.
In lieu of gifts, the family is asking that donations be made to either the Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc., or the American Association of University Women, in Dot's name.
Arrangements under the direction of Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, Bellaire, TX.
