Elizabeth Hosanna Ley Schull, 34, a resident of Houston, Texas passed away on Sunday February 23, 2014. Fondly known as Hosanna to her friends and family, she was born in 1979 in Oak Harbor, Washington, the daughter of Edward P. Ley and Andrea Best Ley. She was preceded in death by her father and sister, Julie Sara Ley. She is survived by her husband, William J. Schull of Houston, mother, Andrea Ley of Virginia, brothers, Graham Ley of Houston, and Richard Ley, his wife, Jennifer and their daughters, Madeline and Chloe of California, and her uncle, Jory Best and his daughter, Angel Best of Australia.
Hosanna was a person of many parts: she was a talented hair stylist, a caterer of distinction, and a costumerie of formidable ingenuity. To those of us whose life she touched, we knew her to be sensitive and giving, albeit a private person. As a result of her own fragile health she was attuned exquisitely
to the pain of others of similar circumstances.
A memorial service will be held on March 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at 1400 Hermann Drive. Parking can be found at the Children’s Museum (entrance on Ewing between Austin and La Branch) and at a lot on Binz (between San Jacinto and Caroline). Limited parking may be available at 1400 Hermann Drive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in her name to SMART Animal Rescue (smartpetz.com; PO Box 910, Spring, Texas 77378, (281) 875-0100); or a contribution in Hosanna Ley Schull's name to the Houston Community College Foundation, 3100 Main Street, suite 12B12, Houston, Texas 77002.
