I will always remember the time we got lost in Barcelona, Spain together. The taxi cab dropped us off at the wrong location and we were separated from the rest of the group in the middle of a foreign city. You trusted me completely to get us to the hotel even though my Spanish was very limited at the time. You never complained the entire time even though you probably walked miles that day. I am very glad I got you home safe that day. I'll miss you forever granny.

My first memory of Erette (Granny as I have and will always know her by) is when she put a bowl of jello in front of me with a nice dollup of whipped cream while I watch cartoons.
My favorite memory of her will always be getting lost in the streets of Barcelona. We (sister Staci, Granny and I) were trying to find our hotel after our taxi ride gave us bogus directions from a closed road. It was supposed to be 3 blocks down the road but didn't give us any info what to look for. We walked way further than 3 blocks, went up and down alleyways, meandered through crowds of people, all with our luggage in tow. We ended up passing right by the hotel several times before we found it but Granny not once complained the whole time. Just simply kept walking and gave ideas of which direction we should try next.
When I eat jello with whipped cream and when I get lost in a major city I'll never forget my memories of my dear Granny. 

I was sad to hear of Erette’s passing.As I sister has said, she was my mom’s (Ora Nell Hassebrock) longest and dearest friend. I was flower girl in her wedding. I was barely 5 so don’t remember it but have pictures. I do remember when I was 16, Erette sent me a dozen red roses to celebrate turning “sweet 16”. I still have a picture of those flowers, such a thoughtful gesture. She was a wonderful friend to mom and there for her in her final years, giving her the emotional support she needed. From viewing the pictures posted by her family, it is obvious she had support  from them in her final years. She was fun and funny, caring but not hesitant to share her opinion on everything. My condolences to her family. 

My Granny will always hold a special place in my heart. Her cute little giggle and smile that would light up this world will be missed everyday! I have such fond memories of Granny throughout my life. As a kid, she introduced me to Shirley Temple, helped foster my love for the Charlie’s Angels, made me the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches, and traveled with us in many fun vacations. After I graduated high school, she gave me the best gift and paid for my college education! Without her, I wouldn’t have found my true passion for teaching science. Granny, you will forever be missed and remembered! I love you so much! 

I have many memories of Erette as she was my Mother's dearest friend since their high school days in Brenham.  She was in my mom's wedding and became my Godparent when I was born.  She always remembered me and I have many wonderful memories of my parents taking trips and enjoying time with Erette and her husband.  I know that the four of them are enjoying each other again in Heaven.  Many prayers for Rhonda and family as they process the grief of losing her.  She will always be remembered with fond memories as she and Harold were a big part of our family's life.  She had a very full life, with ups and downs we all have endured, but she loved her family and was loyal to her friends. Rest in peace.
