Erla Graham

Erla Coit Graham, born June 8, 1917 in Bradford Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents Charle Junker Coit and Lulu Stevenson Coit, her husband Eugene Graham and sister Margarieta Coit Hewey.

Erla graduated from Mansfield College with a teaching degree. She taught elementary school for several years and then happily became a homemaker. She met her husband Gene in Bradford where they were married and lived for many years. In 1961 they moved to Bellaire with their three children. Gene and Erla were members of First Baptist Church of Bellaire and later West University Baptist Church. They were married for over 60 years prior to Gene’s death in 2006 and Erla continued to live on her own in their family home in Bellaire. Erla was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her children, Bill Graham, wife Elaine and grandchildren Brian, wife Kristin and great grandchildren Ashley, Amber and Cheyanne Graham; daughter Rebecca Graham Holder, husband Larry and grandchildren Shane Miller, wife Nikki and great grandchildren Griffin and Gracyn Miller, grandchildren Tiffany Peacock, husband Dustin and great grandchild Hazel Peacock; daughter Rachel Graham Crochet, husband Dub, and grandchildren Cody Crochet, Caley Crochet Kovar, and husband Stephen. Erla is also survived by two nieces, Lenore Hall and Susan Thomas.
