Francesca (Frances F. Pollizzio) —a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend—passed away on June 15, 2021. Celebrating 100 years of joy, sadness, strength, tenderness, faith, love, humor, and understanding. She was a good listener, and shared her knowledge with all that asked.
She was the first born to Sicilian immigrants Vito and Mary Ferreri on April 17, 1921, in Saint Louis Missouri. At age of 5, the family left St Louis Missouri to begin a new live in the Houston area.
The most important passion in her life was her love and devotion to Padre Pio, St. Joseph and the Blessed Mother. She loved to travel, and spend time at the bay fishing on the pier, cooking seafood and gardening.
She was one of the founding members of the Ladies Charity Guild of St. Joseph. She chaired the altars and provided all the large decorative fig pieces for the altar and the breads until recently due to health. She promised St. Joseph that she would freely provide the fig pieces to all who needed them both for churches and private homes.
She actively participated in the St Joseph Altar hosted by the Sacred Heart Society, where she assisted for years in creating the large decorative fig cookies to adorn the altar.
Francs was an artist at everything. She spent long hours beading intricate wall hangings, loved painting portraits in oil, fishing and most of all she loved to cook. She loved it when the entire family would be home for the holidays. From one end of the table to the other would be as many as 25 place settings and bowls filled with pasta (ravioli), meatballs, ham, carduni, and stuffed artichokes which they fought over, salad, bread, wine and no one will ever forget her biscotti. She was also known for her tiramisu and cannolis, a fried pastry stuffed with ricotta cheese and candied fruit. These were days of incredible fun and joy in her life.
Frances was married for 58 years, is now with her family in heaven, her husband Charles, mother and father Vito and Mary Ferreri, her siblings: Vita Rossi, Dorothy M. Piazza and Joe Ferreri, her daughter in law Donna Pollizzio and granddaughter Monica Parker.
She was a loving and dedicated mother to three children. Frances is survived by her daughter Marie Pollizzio, sons Mike Pollizzio, William Pollizzio and wife, Norma, grandchildren: Robert Gresham, Michael Gresham and wife, Sharon, three great grandchildren: Klarissa Parker, Haley Gresham and Trace Gresham; one great great-granddaughter: Nirvana Sweney and numerous nieces, nephews.
To all who were a part of her life, Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.
