Larry and I are so sad to read about the departing of our dear Friend Frank. So many beautiful memories of times together with Dorothy and Frank are spinning in our heads as we discuss the deep love we had for both of them. Both of us benefitted many times from Frank's good counsel, which always came from his spiritual base. He was brave and bold in his faith as well as humble and forgiving in his person. They spent a few Thanksgivings with us and Frank especially enjoyed singing around the piano. When we spent time together as couples, we would die laughing and act like kids again and just enjoy being alive.   They came to our children's graduations and weddings. Our children thought of them as family. You three girls were also like family to us in our hearts and we would love to hear from you.  Larry's mother died just 2 months before Frank so I hope they can look each other up and unite.  I can't tell you what a bonus was added to our lives by knowing Frank Parmer. Can't wait so see him again.

Your dad was such an inspiration for me. He was a wonderful Christian role model for everyone he met. He is home with the Lord now.

I knew Frank mostly through the legacy of Faith he has passed on through his daughters, Linda, Pat and Taylor. He was a man of faith who loved his Lord, his family and those around him! He was quick to tell a story, to tell a story and to stop and pray! I think he had I Thessalonians 5:17 (pray without ceasing) down! Dear Frank we Praise the Lord for YOU!

A phrase my dad used often was: I thank God for ya

This short phrase could be irritating at times because it could seem trite and repetitive, but upon reflection, it is actually a statement of how he lived his life.

It is a statement of acknowledgement:

         all creation, all resources, all blessings ultimately go to the source, God and His son, Jesus Christ
         giving dignity to the persons in his presencetheir birth and existence on earth,
         the essence of who they are as being wonderful, powerful, comforting, encouraging
         the fact of your presence means everything is okay

It is a statement of appreciation:
         for all kindnesses great and small bestowed on him

I had the pleasure and honor of growing up around Frank since I was first born into this world.  He was my dad's Sunday school teacher at Rice Temple--a man whom my father greatly respected.  Then again, everyone respected Frank, with his friendly smile, always trying to include you as part of the family.  His lovely wife, Dorothy, God bless her as well, was just the same--gentle, thoughtful, caring.  They projected what many of us Christians just can't seem to get right: living with a selfless, Christlike love of others and with a true spirit of service.  Frank was always available to offer wise encouragement and advice for anyone who needed it.

As I grew older, I learned to truly appreciate the real sacrifices "The Greatest Generation" had made for our freedom during World War II, and I began to have an even deeper respect for this amazing man.   We had some great conversations about his service as a bomber navigator in protecting our nation and our allies against the Nazis and the Japanese Empire.  I was blessed to have him 
share some of his memories with me, to listen to him recall some stories, and at times, some tears.  I had a tradition of calling him every Veteran's Day and Memorial Day, and he was always so nice and just glad to have a little conversation with me.  I miss those conversations.

To know what he's been through in his life and what he's seen, it's amazing to have known someone with such a positive and strong attitude, always on fire for the Lord, and ready to serve his fellow man in any way he could.
 
My truly deepest condolences go out to all of Frank's family, friends, and to those whose lives he's touched in his special way.

And to you, Frank, I salute you as one of those who truly deserves the title of "Hero."

"His lord said unto him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."  Matthew 25:23

I knew Frank for 44 years, and in all those years, I knew him to be a Godly, upright man.  I loved Frank and Dorothy as much as I loved my own family.  I visited Frank many times over the years, and I never left without him saying, "I thank the Lord for you, Mary."  God bless.

Frank was a wonderful Christian man who I have known a long time.  On several occasions in recent years my wife and I had he and Dorothy go to breakfast with us and we enjoyed his inspiration.  Frank was the nephew of my stepmother and participated in many family get-togethers and I know that he made many friends through his ministry and insurance business.  He will be missed by many.

Deepest sympathies and prayers to Pat, Lynda and Taylor during this difficult. He will be dearly missed. May the memory of His love give you comfort.

To the Parmer Family, 

You have my deepest sympathies. Losing a loved one in death is no doubt one of, if not the hardest event to cope with during life. Times such as these often seem to hard to cope with. However, remember God's promise about death at 1 Corinthians 15:26 . There we are reminded about the hope where God himself says soon, "death, is to be brought to nothing." No one will die anymore and we will be able to see our lost loved ones again!

As a young boy sitting in church and just maybe wiggling around to much, Frank would let me sit next to him and He would give my words to look up in the concordance of my Bible.  I would then find the passages and underline the words. This exercise not only kept me quite I learned how to use God's word.  I have done the same thing for wiggling children in church and it still works.  I will always remember Frank and his love for me as I loved him.

Frank spoke at a revival meeting at Reveille Woods Christian Church  in 1959 and my wife Marlene & I invited to our home for lunch. He explained the gospel clearly to us and we accepted Christ. Frank continued to come to our church for many months and taught Sunday nights. We grew under his teaching. He would bring different kids with him including his daughters and Carol Kinney.
