He was born July 10, 1923 in Port Arthur, Texas to Blanche Briley Stovall and George Stovall. He is predeceased by his parents and sisters, Margaret Whitby and Bernice White. George graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston and attended University of Texas and graduated from the University of Houston, engineering department. He served in World War II in the Army. George saw duty in North Africa and France. He worked as a petroleum engineer for Texaco, Mobil OIl Corp., and with Parkersburg Rig and Reel. He was with the Federal Power Commission , dealing with gas reserves and deliverabilty as an expert witness. He spent the last 25 years of his career working for Transco as Chief Storage Engineer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Laurette Tibiletti Stovall; his children Mike Stovall and daughter-in-law Kerry, Matt Stovall and daughter-in-law Kathy, daughter Blanche LeVoci and son-in-law Alfred Levoci, daughter Abbie Chuo and son-in-law Li-Yun. He leaves behind the following grandsons-Tib Stovall, Joseph Stovall, Tony Chuo and Vincent Chuo. Step grandchildren- Kristi and Frank Pennell, Nikki and Ryan Brooks and Gabe and Emily DeLeon. Step great grandchildren-Ava Brooks and Jackie Pennell.
