Dearest Nancy, Mark, and family members,

Jim was an amazingly bright spirit, always witty, smart in his comments, generous in his gestures, a unique and dear man, all around.  I will not forget him, his courtesies, his humor, his splendid way of hosting a dinner party and making everyone feel more than special. He was just a lovely, lovely gentleman.

About a year after I came to the USA I was hired by Mr. Hall at Storage Warehouse. I spent 13 years working for him. Mr. Hall gave me the opportunity to learn all aspects of the contract logistics and trucking company business. When I started I was mainly making labels but I had the opportunity to become a CSR and later his office manager.  Today I am still using the same skills that I was given.

Mr. Hall was a very kind person who touched a lot of lives but seldom credited himself.

Nancy, Mark and family, I am so sorry to learn of Jim's death. I suppose I thought he would live forever, being the bigger than life person he was. It was my pleasure to have worked for him for 17 years . My thoughts and prayers are with you today.

Nancy, I heard of Jim's passing from Amber this Saturday morning, 6/10, @ 10:30.  Jim was a kind and gentle spirit.  My prayers are with you, Mark and your family.

 27  years ago Mr. Hall hired  a young know it all young lady  and challenged her with various tasks.  She failed many times, grumbled a lot, lost her way, and never wanted to be wrong .  He never gave up on her and continued to teach her  about warehousing, trucking,  chemical ,drum grabbers. and most importantly LIFE.  Today I am a CSR Manager for one of the world's largest  Logistics Company and I owe it all to my mentor,  father figure,  ,boss, and friend.  MR. JIM HALL! !! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Condolences to the family. I was employed by Storage Warehouse in the 1970's, and rehired in the 90's. Jim was such a funny man.  I remember one day he let me drive his big yellow truck, down the streets @ Storage Warehouse in LaPorte. RIP Jim

Jim and Nancy were our back door neighbors from 1999 to 2007 and dear friends since the day we met them. Jim brought us great joy; ever smiling, joking, and helping. As our family sit in our yard on our collection of "big butt benches" made by this sweet, sweet man, we always remember Jim and his BIG yellow truck. We are so honored to have had Jim in our lives. We love you Jim and Nancy! Mark, Melinda, girls, Nancy, you are in our prayers! God is with you!

We knew Jim and Nancy since the early 1980's and became friends; exchanged Jim's great sense of humor; We share comfort in knowing Jim is no longer suffering.

I met Jim at Mark & Melinda's wedding.  Although I didn't know him well, I know the marvelous son that he and Nancy raised, so he had to have been a wonderful and caring man.   May God be with the family during this time and wrap His Arms around them to protect them

We have loved being neighbors with Jim and Nacy, if even for a short time. Jim and Nacy were one of the first to welcome us to Houston. We feel blessed to have known Jim and will keep Nancy and her wonderful family in our thoughts and prayers.

May you rest in peace, Jimmy.  We both had memories of growing up on Lafayette Street and living in a neighborhood where everyone watched out for everyone else's children. We were blessed, indeed.

I would have loved to know Jim when he was well.  What a wonderful guy.

I knew Jim mainly through his son Mark, this alone makes him a great man to me. We are praying for your family.

To know him was to love him.  
I read this news with mixed feelings.  I knew it was coming, but was not ready for the real time.    I know that God had a big job getting ready to welcome Jim to 
Heaven.  I can only imagine how many fix it jobs God had been listing.  Also, 
all the departed family and friends Jim would  be seeing again and as on earth,
Jim would have his wonderful sense of humor and make their day.  Take good

Oh my!  This sad notice caused a huge flood of Jim & Nancy & Mark Hall memories to flow through my mind. Jim was so full of life. I first met him in 1984 when I came to Houston with a new job but without my family and sought out a nearby scout troop to continue my service as an adult scout leader. Here was Jim in a smoky bear hat and full & proper scout uniform and the loudest voice I ever heard! We became friends and he and Nancy invited me (and soon the rest of my family) into their home and their lives.  Jim had the biggest truck, biggest laugh and biggest heart ever.  We will all miss him!  Ken & Linda Ruby.

I am sad that Jim has now left life as we know it.  I hope the memories you share of Jim as husband, Dad & grandfather will sustain you during this sad time.
We have been missing Jim and you, Nancy, at Good Will for too long.  Your messages and sharing beauty through the internet has been special for me, even as late as yesterday.  It was evident that y'all were always thinking of God's blessings and how to make our world better.  I looked at and loved the pictures in the red car this morning and am so glad for all the ways Jim enjoyed life.  With love, Pat
