

Jay Mark Burman beloved father, son, brother, and drummer lived to be 76, passing on September 10, 2023. Born in “beautiful downtown Burbank, CA” on April 6, 1947. Lived most of his life in Houston where he loved the Astros and the Cougars. In fact, he loved the University of Houston so much, he attended over 4 separate decades taking classes and earning 2 degrees. More than that he loved his family and his nicknames. Whether it was “Water Boy” from his friends at the Houston Police Department; “Pops” from his son’s friends; “Uncle Jay” from his numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; but his favorite title of all was Dad. He is survived by his children Luci (and wife Leesa) and David (and wife Stephanie) and their mother Jane; his sisters Roberta “Bird” (and husband Moshe), Terri, and Jodi (and husband Mordecai). He is buried at Beth Jacob Cemetery near his parents, Hal and Sylvia, Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Beth Jacob Cemetery, 2300 Almeda Genoa Rd, Houston, TX 77047, Rabbi Moshe Bomzer officiating.
