Jerry Max Rovner was born on December 1, 1946 to Vera and Joseph Rovner in Manchester, NH and passed away on May 16, 2021 in Houston, TX at the age of 74. He was a husband to the late Holly Rovner (married 1987), and is survived by his sister, Reva Rovner, and his 3 daughters – Sarah Rovner, Amy Rovner, and Heather Schulz. He was an accomplished engineer who began his exceptional career in 1968 when he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He furthered his education with a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1969 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering from Rice University in 1973. He was a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas for 40 years and retired from Chevron in 2014 as a Consulting Engineer. His work in engineering resulted in accomplishing 3 patents and after retirement he founded a consulting company, ProSyn Consultants. He was an avid runner who loved vintage science fiction media loved his family and was an active member of his congregation, Congregation or Ami. His funeral will be held on Sunday, May 23rd at 3:00pm at Forest Park Cemetery on 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston TX 77077. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
