Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lois Patterson (Dottie) and her daughter, Denise Howell; his children, Robert Patterson and wife Diane (Houston, TX), Nancy Patterson (Columbia, MD), and Joe Patterson (Bowie, MD); his brother, Forrest Patterson and wife Virginia (Indio, California), sister, Nancy Jeanne Patterson (The Woodlands, TX), sister, Paula Murray (Houston, TX); and sister-in-law, Lou Patterson (New Braunfels, TX).
In lieu of flowers, family request that donations be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
