My sincerest condolences for the family. Joel was very kind hearted and generous. He had very strong work ethics, and was highly skilled at what he did  in nursing. As a professional, Joel was loved by his patients, peers, physicians and families.  His laughter was contagious and always left an impression. May he rest in peace forevermore.

Joel and my husband Jon(Tikboy) were childhood friend. Thankful to God for allowing us to meet each other in US twice. What touches my heart was, they were able to chat and call last Dec. 15 & 18. I've heard about his generosity and hospitality. Loved to hear his testimonies. But God has His own timetable for each of us. For sure he will be missed. "He finished well"

For we know that if this earthly tabernacle were dissolved that we have a building of God, an house not made by hands eternal in the heavens.  2Corinthians 5:1.   I met Joel at Baylor St. .Luke’s Episcopal Hospital.  For some months we just spoke over the telephone.  I’d call the dialysis unit and somehow Joel would answer the telephone.  In later months he would come to 7 Tower to perform that procedure.  I put a face to that cheerful voice.  I’ve not seen him when he wasn’t jovial or unwilling to be a team player.   His smile and laughter was igniting.  If you weren’t smiling when you came into contact with Joel, you would be as he talked with you.    My sincere condolence to the family. Joel is 
shining brightly in heaven now but he won’t 
be forgotten.  May the peace of God keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus.

My very deepest condolences to all who knew and loved  Joel .  He wii certainly be missed. His smile would light up any room and melt the stoniest of hearts.  He had a way of making your entire day with a simple hello you felt the warmth and love.  And saw his love and compassion in everything he did.  Such a gentle giant. Soft spoken and humble man.  Power packed with wisdom and the love of  God.

Joel was an excellent care provider. He was always ready to step in no matter what the hour to provide apheresis services for our patients - and always with empathy. His pleasant demeanor made all better. He was the embodiment of the Common Spirit initiative for “Human Kindness”. We will miss him greatly.

A lunch date in downtown houston, 2018.  After we ate, he showed me the Kardia, a mobile ekg device and suggested I also get one which I still used today. He is well informed on where to take you at any time, any place you'll enjoy. I believe God has given you a perfect place at a perfect time. We know a you are a faithful servant of the Lord.

Joel’s charismatic smile and personality always brightened the room with his presence.  Joel loved life to the fullest, and enjoyed exploring the world in the company of his friends.  Joel was a wonderful friend, always displaying unconditional care and love.  He will forever have a lasting place in our hearts for the good times and memories that we built together through our friendship and adventures around the world.  Our deepest condolences to Joel’s family and we will continue to pray for comfort and strength during this difficult time. 

Am a few years older than Joel, my cousin.  I known him as a loving son, brother and friend. He's also shy and humble. When he worked in Saudi Arabia,  he supported his brothers and sisters finished their education and they are now successful in their own lives. 
Joel, you are now in peace with our Almighty God. We, your family loves you and will surely miss you.

July 4th 2010 Chicago...the day went to the same Filipino buffet. TWICE.. because we did not want to tell the Truth and upset our friend that we had lunch there already.  So we got so sick of eating the same food again😀.

Joel was Brieon’s Godfather. Every Christmas he never failed to give his godson a present. Last year Joel sent this to Brieon.

It was September 15 this year when we last saw each other, never came into my mind that it will be the last time to see you..😭😭😭. Everytime you're here in the Philippines you always take time and never fail to see me despite of your hectic schedules. And with that I really appreciate how you value our friendship. You are now home with our Creator and we will be seeing each other soon. This is not goodbye rather we will see you in the morning. We love you! Well done thou good and faithful servant.

Joel, you have touched so many lives with your  kindness & generosity.  Your calm, clever, humorous & reassuring presence  in every situation will be fondly remembered. There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts.

Joel according to my husband is our "kindred spirit"; and so, hearing about Joel's passing has brought deep shock and sadness to our hearts.   Despite the sadness, we thank God for Joel's life and celebrate the legacy that he has left behind.  We have known Joel as a faithful Christian who lived to please his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  His life depicted love for the Lord’s work and His people.  He supported ministries and God’s workers financially and prayerfully. Joel loved his family unconditionally and speaks of them proudly.  
When it comes to friends, Joel has the largest network of them! We are privileged to be a part of this huge network. As a friend, Joel came to our wedding and visited us in Canada several times.  We also were in several trips together.  In those trips, Joel’s contagious laughter, adventurous spirit, generosity, kindness, wise words, jokes, and cheerfulness keep us all satisfied, energetic, and happy.  
Each time Joel travels, he would send us photos or call us to share exciting places and experiences.  We appreciate this so much since we not only see scenic places but also shows he was thinking about us!  At the start of each year, he would ask us where we are planning to travel in the summer or invite us to go on trip with him.  We also appreciate Joel connecting us with his circle of friends.  We have gained lifelong friends through this.  If not for Joel, we will not know Alona, Nelson, and Marie who are not only wonderful people but very kind and caring friends as well.
We will surely miss you Joel!  You are our kindred spirit, which is very seldom to find in this world. We will miss getting the yearly Christmas Cantata CD from First Baptist Church of Houston we get almost every year. You have lived a life of faith and faithfulness.  Your kindness, care, compassion, generosity, enthusiasm for life, and love for Jesus will be greatly missed! We thank God for you and thank you for your for being a friend indeed!
