We are deeply saddened to share the loss of Dr. Lawrence Miller Bramlette, age 64, who passed away in Houston, Texas on February 22, 2025. Lawrence will be fondly remembered for his warmth, humor, and acts of kindness. His life was devoted to helping others, both in his work as a psychologist and as a true friend.
Lawrence initially studied the cello at Eastman School of Music in New York and ultimately obtained his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. As a psychologist and friend, he was passionate about fostering strengths in others and authentically connecting. He was compassionate, validating and steadfastly in your corner. His razor-sharp and good-natured wit and wisdom were unique. He was known for his warm and frequently playful stance as well as his ability to comfort and put others at ease.
Lawrence is survived by the love of his life for 30 years, Dr. Liza Anne Bonin. At age 13, he lost his father, Jack Howard Bramlette. He is also preceded in death by his mother, Joan Docherty Howell, and sister, Dana Bramlette. Family survivors include sister, Julia Rossi, and brother-in-law, Professor Hugo Rossi, of Salt Lake City and sister, Joan Jackson, of Dallas, as well as beloved nieces Martha Suquet and Alice Bradley; nephew Raffaele Rossi and five great-nieces and nephews. We are very grateful for the outstanding care Lawrence received from the compassionate medical ICU team at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
Lawrence was a modern Renaissance Man who loved music, art, design, history, and classic (as well as “real man”) movies. He was a merciless Scrabble player and devoted tennis fan. Lawrence’s heartfelt devotion to Liza was extraordinary. He also took great care of their beloved Russian Blue cat, Cosmo, as well as their adopted backyard cats. We were so fortunate to have Lawrence in our lives. May he always inspire us to care for one another as he did.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet St., Bellaire, TX 77401.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Dr. Lawrence Bramlette to Best Friends Animal Society (https://bestfriends.org/who-we-are) or charity of your choice.
