Leonard Schreiber

November 4, 1927February 27, 2019

Leonard H. Schreiber passed away on February 27, 2019 at the age of 91. He was born in the Bronx, on November 4, 1927 to Morris and Celia Schreiber, who recently had immigrated from Hungary. He graduated from high school at 16, and went on to New York University where he received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at 18. This was followed by a year in the Army, and then a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from MIT at 20. After graduating from MIT, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he worked for General Dynamics the next 42 years. He was a significant contributor to the development of many fighter jets including the F-111 and F-16. One of the highlights of his carrier was going Mach 2 in a F-16 during a checkout flight. He had a BALL!!!

He met the love of his life Esther Sankary in Fort Worth. They married September 2, 1951 and together they enjoyed all life had to offer for the next 67 years. They had two daughters: Jeanie and Sherri. He took care of his girls unselfishly, allowing them to grow, and succeed in their own rights. After his retirement, Leonard and Esther fulfilled their lifelong dream to travel the world together and experience the beauty of different cultures. He loved reading, investing, and beating the computer at games by writing mathematical equations to win.

Leonard is survived by his wife; Esther, daughters; Jeanie Deutsch and Sherri Levin Rapp, son-in-laws; Derek Deutsch and Craig Rapp, beloved granddaughters; Lauren Wu and Lindsay Deutsch, great grandchildren; Jacqueline and Spencer Wu, and brother: Melvin Schreiber and his wife Shirley. We will miss him forever and thank him for his love, strength, generosity and brilliant mind.

We love you Daddy!
