Loretta Martin

Letty was born to William and Loretta Kutter on 11 January 1922 in Newark, NJ. In her youth she loved to horseback ride, and was introduced to tennis, which became her lifetime passion.

She married George H. Martin and in 1952, four months after the birth of their only child, her family was among 300 employee families transferred to Houston by Prudential Insurance Company.

Letty loved to cruise, and played tennis almost weekly into her late 80s.

She is predeceased by husband George H. Martin, and survived by her beloved cousin Jack O'Rourke in NJ with whom she was raised, and devoted son George H. "Jerry" Martin, Jr.

Letty will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on what would have been her 100th birthday, 11 January 2022. A memorial service is to be announced, COVID permitting.
