Lawrence Burglass Hoffman, Sr. (85) passed away on December 12, 2020, after a long battle with COPD and CHF in his Bellaire home, surrounded by his 3 children.
His beloved wife, Lynne Armstrong Hoffman, (83) passed away peacefully exactly one year later the same date, December 12, 2021, from CHF.
Larry and Lynne were born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana where they fell in love and married on April 26, 1958. They were married for 62 years.
Their greatest joy & accomplishment was their family. They are survived by their three children, Larry B. Hoffman, Jr., (Alisa), Lori Wilkins (Dale), and Lisa Riddle (Mike), four grandchildren; Lance Hoffman (Nicole), Jacqueline Hoffman Stone (Damon), Lauren Hoffman & Brennan Hoffman and six great grandchildren; Caroline, Caelyn & Bryce Hoffman and Dylan, Danica, and Ruby Stone.
Larry, known to all as “H”, was a numbers guy who had a long career as a salesman and commodity broker. Numbers were his passion, and he would spend countless hours creating graphs & charts analyzing market data. His slogan was, “guaranteed to change your net worth, one way or another”. He had an incredible sense of humor and never met a stranger. After his retirement, Larry managed a Snow-Ball stand in the Bellaire Pool. This was one of his greatest pleasurers and he cultivated many relationships in the Bellaire community.
Lynne was a professional real estate appraiser and top-producing real estate agent for Coldwell Banker United. Her dynamic personality, market expertise and passion for helping others generated a loyal clientele base, many of which developed into lifelong friendships.
Together, they touched the lives of everyone that knew them through their kindness, generosity & love. They were always the life of the party and big part of the entertainment with the telling of endless jokes, many of them based on real-life stories. Their welcoming spirit was felt by every person that walked into their home; a home filled with treasured memorabilia of their children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends. They considered themselves truly blessed in their later years to live within one block of their three children who were able to care for them in their home until their passing.
Lynne and Larry were a dynamic duo who fell in love at first sight. Their love was everlasting and continues through their greatest legacy, their family. Their unwavering love for one another was a gift to behold and will forever be in our hearts.
