Malcolm Marcoe, MD "Malkie", age 84 passed away on July 25, 2016. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to Goldie and Maurice Marcoe. He attended Medical School at Queens University in Canada and practiced medicine for 40 years until complications related to Parkinson's disease forced him to retire 14 years ago. As a physician, Malcolm was a healer and so much more. He was trusted and loved by his parents and treated them with not only the utmost compassion and care but also showed them the patience and understanding that he showed everyone in his life.
A loving, fun and supportive husband, father who loved his children immensely and a doting grandfather to the kids that filled his life with love and joy.
He was married to the love of his life, Judi for 28 wonderful, fun filled years. They enjoyed travelling together, laughing together, sharing their grandchildren and their love of life. He was an avid fisherman, and could sit on his boat for hours, even if he did not catch any fish; it was just the joy of being out on the open water spending time with his friends.
Malcolm is preceded in death by his parents, brother Joel, and his beloved son, David. He is survived by his wife, Judi, children Gary Marcoe, Shelly Marcoe Shelton and husband Al, and Lisa Starr, grandchildren David and Mathew Marcoe, Katherine, Blake, and Joshua Starr and numerous family members and friends who were a special part of his life.
Special thank you to his caregivers Denise Wise, Denise Thomas, Lois Wise, Shantel Palmer, and Irene Martinez who gave him loving care in his last years.
Services will be held at Congregation Beth Yeshurun (4525 Beechnut) on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 1:30pm in the Freedman/Levit Sanctuary officiated by Rabbi Jack Segal. Burial will follow services at Beth Yeshurun Cemetery on North Post Oak.
