

Marcelle Ducros Gorton died October 7, 2011 at her home in Houston, Texas, where she had lived for the last 58 years. She was born May 31, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Conrad Marius Ducros and Marion Roy Ducros, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her siblings Conrad M. Ducros Jr., William Roy Ducros and Marion Ducros Jane'. Mrs. Gorton's loving survivors include her husband of 53 years, William "Bill" Gorton of Houston; daughter Ann Gorton Boyd, son-in-law Andrew Boyd, and grandchildren, Marion Catherine Boyd and Luke Jin Boyd, all of Arlington, Virginia. Also surviving her are a brother-in-law, Robert Gorton and his wife Rosalind of Manhattan, Kansas; sister-in-law Mary Gorton McBride of Fairhope, Alabama; sister-in-law Marie Ducros of Raleigh, North Carolina; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Mrs. Gorton and her husband were founding members of St. Thomas More Catholic parish, where she volunteered at the school and church for many years. She also volunteered in later years at St. Dominic's Center.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at St. Thomas More church, with a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. followed by a reception.
Graveside service will held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011, at St. Louis Cemetery #3, in New Orleans, LA.
The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas, 77030; or to the food pantry at St. Thomas More Church at 10330 Hillcroft, Houston, Texas, 77096.
