Her career as an x-ray technician led her to Houston and a job at St. Joseph’s Hospital. There she met and married Pliny Woodbury Smith M.D.
Jean was very proud of her Scottish and English heritage and often spoke of her visits to her relatives in Scotland and England.
Jean is survived by her stepsons, Pliny Cleland Smith M.D. of Houston (Julie), Geoffrey Davidson Smith of San Diego, grandchildren Pliny A. Smith of Chicago and Anne A. Smith of Forth Worth, and great-grandchildren, Gillian Smith of Chicago, and Jason Smith of Madison, WI.
The family would like to thank Ethel Kennedy and Luisa Lemus for their kind and loving care of Jean.
