Raymond William Beyer passed away peacefully at the age of 100½, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, integrity, and unwavering love for his family. While his passing is deeply mourned, his family rejoices in the promise that he has been reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, his beloved wife, Margaret Apperson Beyer, affectionately known as “Mrs. B.”
Raymond dedicated much of his career to the oilfield services industry, working throughout the United States and South America. His assignments took him from Venezuela to the Ecuadorian Amazon, where he earned the respect of colleagues through his leadership, integrity, and tireless work ethic. He embraced the cultures of the people he lived among and lived by the Golden Rule, treating others as he wished to be treated.
While living in Ecuador, Raymond and Mrs. B. were blessed to adopt their daughter, Presenta. He often described her as one of God’s greatest gifts and took immense pride in watching her build a successful life after earning her chemistry degree from the University of Houston and becoming an environmental analyst. She loved and cared for them until their last moments on earth.
In retirement, Raymond continued serving others as the trusted handyman and maintenance director for his condominium community. Whether repairing a neighbor’s home or caring for a colony of stray cats, he quietly demonstrated that a life of significance is measured through kindness and service.
He found joy in reading, fishing, his animals, and an occasional nip of gin. He also devoted many years to Freemasonry, where he found purpose through leadership, mentorship, charity, and fellowship. Above all, Raymond treasured his family. His wisdom, humility, generosity, and steadfast faith shaped generations and remain his greatest legacy.
Though his earthly work is complete, his family finds comfort in knowing he is once again with Mrs. B., together in the presence of the Lord. His life reminds us that true greatness is found not only in what we accomplish, but in the people we love and the lives we touch.
Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Apperson Beyer; his son, Robert Wayne Beyer; his parents, Annie Lile Beyer and Wilhelm F. Beyer; and his sister, Gladys McCullar.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheila K. Pierson, Presenta Cabascango, and Marcia L. Walker; his nephew, Jack Weinberg; his great-niece, Jamie Weinberg (Megan); his grandchildren, Timothy Michael Fritsche (Andrea), Cynthia Noel Casburn, Shannon Kooima (Tony), Mia Osborne (Luke), and Jason Pierson (Courtney); and his great-grandchildren, Naomi Robin Osborne, Ophelia Rose Osborne, Phoebe June Osborne, William Raymond Kooima, Quinton Riley Casburn, Colleen Grace Casburn (Riley), and Caleb Joshua Casburn.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. A private family interment will take place Saturday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in honor of Raymond’s lifelong commitment to helping others.
