Richard Allen Kline

On March 12, 2026, in Houston, TX, Richard (Dick) Kline passed away peacefully at the age of 97. Born March 7, 1929, in Norristown, PA, Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. After attending Penn State University, Richard joined the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged three years later. In 1954 he married Phyllis Ann Moreland Kline of Tulsa, OK, and they lived in Tulsa; Arlington, TX; and Houston, TX, during their married life. Upon moving to Houston in 1962, Richard opened Apartment Rental Service on Westheimer and led that company for 33 years. A lifelong baseball fan, he attended every Opening Day from his first year in Houston until his late 80s. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Allen Kline and Grace Bean Kline, his wife Phyllis, and daughter-in-law Kaprice Selcer Kline. Surviving Richard are his daughter Nancy Elizabeth Kline, son John Allen Kline, his wife Sheryl Knispel Kline and son Michael Harry Kline, grandchildren Stephanie Kline Rose (Steph), Benjamin Allen Kline (Courtney) and their daughters Lettie Jean and Dottie Sue, and Eric Dean Kline (Juliana) and their daughter Haven Grace, a niece, nephew, and several cousins. The family would like to express their appreciation to Capstone Homecare, Clarewood House, and Houston Hospice for the care and support provided over the last year. A private burial is planned for Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
