Robert William Chapman

March 22, 1955April 12, 2019

ROBERT WILLIAM CHAPMAN, age 64, passed away April 12, 2019. Rob was born March 22, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma but spent most of his life in Bellaire, Texas. Graduating from Bellaire High School in 1974, he married his high school sweetheart Martha Lynn Broward on June 5, 1976 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Together they raised four children. Rob’s highest priority was to provide for his children’s education. He worked long hours and often took out-of-town jobs to pay for private schools and enable Martha to be a stay-at-home mother, a role she treasured. Rob spent his weekends renovating rental properties and cooking feasts for family and friends that routinely popped in to visit. He was an avid cards player and especially loved to play Hearts with his brothers. He also loved to spend time at Lake Travis with family, friends and his golden retrievers. After 35+ years of service, Rob (known professionally as Bob) retired from Bechtel in 2016 and spent the last few years enjoying long motorcycle rides and weekly margarita nights with friends.

Rob is survived by his children Chelsea Cantrelle (Nelson), Jocelyn Vincent (Blane), Todd (Christa) and Chase Chapman, 6 grandchildren, brothers Charles, Richard (Linda), Thomas and John (Ginger) Chapman, mother-in-law Mary Ann Broward, sister-in-law Susan-Elaine Broward, brothers-in-law Matthew and Benjamin (Tammy) Broward, 1 niece and 5 nephews.

Rob was preceded in death by his wife Martha and parents C. Joe (Charles Joseph) and Flo (Florene) Geldard Chapman.

The family will hold a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Catholic Charites (catholiccharities.org).

Chelsea, Jocelyn, Todd, Chase So sorry for your loss. As one fortunate enough to have worked closely with both girls, I know their fiery competitiveness and honest care for their teammates had to be instilled in them long before I showed up. Coach Horn

Bob was a good friend over my many years at Bechtel. We shared many, many lunch hours telling each other our family stories.
I know he will be greatly missed by both friends and family.
My prayers go out to his family during this Easter week.

I’ve known Rob all my life back to when we were kids. He was a friend of my older brother so those older guys helped raise me. Rob was always very funny and intelligent as well. He will be missed.

Our hearts are broken to hear about your Dad. We still think about all of you. I have Marty's Birthday marked on my calendar every year.

Some of our best memories were watching all of you grow up at St. Paul's, all the Birthday parties, the crazy Halloween Parties especially that time at The Houston Museum of Natural Science. We loved that vacation we took with all of you at Lake Travis.

We send all our prayers and support to each of you. All our love - Kerry, Brad, Jennifer, and Bryce Campbell
