IN THE CARE OF
Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home
Robert Bruce Flint, Jr. passed away on January 11, 2023 in Houston, Texas at the age of 83.
He is survived by his son Eric Christian Flint of Hallettsville and granddaughter Raili Nicole Flint
of Austin; two nieces, Pamela Flint Clark (husband, David) of Pflugerville, and Anna Flint
Holladay of Salt Lake City; great nephews and nieces Flint Brewer, Taylor Brewer both of
Austin, Mary Gower Tislow (husband, Bobby) of Victoria, Max Gower of Leander, Brock
Holladay of Waco.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Bruce Flint III of Houston, his brother Thomas
Gene Flint of Victoria, and his parents Robert Bruce and Aileen Grimsley Flint of Bellaire.
Bob was born in Liberal, Kansas on November 15, 1939 and grew up in Bellaire, Texas.
He graduated from Bellaire High School and attended The University of Texas in Austin. He
proudly served in the 399th regiment 100th division of the US Army.
After a long career as a salesman and traveling all over the United States, Bob retired from the
Ranger Group as a part-owner.
In the 1980’s his love of the outdoors drew him to Hallettsville where he purchased a ranch. At
first it was a weekend getaway, but later turned into his cherished home. It was a gathering
place for family and friends. Many days were spent swimming, playing dominoes and cards,
barbecuing, and taking people for tours around the property in his Jeep. He loved sitting on the
wrap-around porch, with a cup of coffee, watching the cattle during sunrise. Bob sold this
property in 2022 and moved back to Houston to live in a retirement community.
Bob was a storyteller. He had an opinion on just about everything and was not afraid to share it.
He was a devout Longhorn fan and loved the game of baseball and the great Houston Astros.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Hallettsville.
