

Ron spent his childhood in Pampa, Texas. He moved to Houston in 1964 and has been a resident since. Ron attended Texas Tech University, Denver Technical School and ITT Tech. Ron has worked as a draftsman for the past 48 years. He was a hard worker and meticulous at his trade. He has been employed at Piping Technologies for the past 14 years. He cherished his work and his friends. Always a loyal fan, his favorite pastime was watching the Astros, Rockets and Texans (Oilers). He especially enjoyed attending Texan football games (even this past season). He began swimming for fitness 25 years ago after giving up running. He was convinced that swimming was the best exercise in the world. Ron loved all animals; dogs, birds, fish, lizards, etc. He owned a pet store for brief time and raced homing pigeons.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Billie and Barney Rogers and his beloved dog Prissy.
Ron is survived by his two children; son Jason Rogers and daughter Lesley Bridgen and husband Jerry; granddaughter, Amanda and sister, Joan Hatton.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Levy Funeral Home at 4525 Bissonnet, Bellaire, Texas on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, or Citizens for Animal Protection (CAPS).
