Sharon was born in Galveston, Texas on April 15, 1944 and was a proud BOI (Born on the Island). She attended Ball High School in Galveston, The University of Texas at Austin, and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in accounting. She had a long career as an accounting and tax professional.
She was retired and loved playing mahjong with her girls. During the height of the COVID pandemic the ladies moved their game online. The sounds of Bam! and Crack! could be heard coming from her computer while the group chatted on a conference call in the background.
Sharon married Kenneth Goodgame in 1968 at the Galvez Hotel in Galveston. They went to school together, graduating Ball High in 1961, and later met each other again in Houston. They went on to have three daughters: Lisa, Rani, and Cheryl.
Sharon’s surviving family members are her husband Kenneth Goodgame, daughter Lisa Goodgame, son-in-law Paul Benjamin (Lisa’s husband), daughter Cheryl Goodgame, brother-in-law and his wife Keith and Ginger Goodgame, her sister-in-law Ann Plantowsky, and her beloved pup Benji.
Family members who passed before her include her daughter Rani Goodgame, her brother Jerry Plantowsky, her mother Gertrude Plantowsky (Oshman), her father Joe Plantowsky, and her parents-in-law Nevil and Darrell (Dee Dee) Goodgame.
Sharon and her family have been life-long members of Congregation Beth Yeshurun.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in the Bender Memorial Chapel at Beth Yeshurun-Post Oak Cemetery.
