

Sr. Charlene was born Charlene Theresa Foret in 1946 to John and Melda Guillory Foret. She was born in Ville Platte, LA. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, Houston, TX on September 8, 1964 at Villa de Matel in Houston. Sister consecrated her life to God by Perpetual Profession of Vows on July 22, 1972 at Villa de Matel.
Sr. Charlene was missioned to St. Elizabeth Hospital, Beaumont, TX; Schumpert Hospital, Shreveport, LA; St. Mary Hospital, Galveston, TX; St. Placidus Convent, Houston, TX to name some. She extended to others a compassionate presence in visiting the sick. Sister showed each of us how to live in the present because life is a precious gift of God.
Sr. Charlene is survived by two sisters – Beryl Krolczyk and Barbara Powell, a niece and many nephews in Texas and Mississippi. We wish to extend our thanks to the staff who cared for Sister at St. Placidus Convent.
Sister Charlene’s body will be received at the Immaculate Conception Chapel, Villa de Matel, 6510 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas at 5:00 PM on August 9, 2015, followed by Evening Praise and a celebration of her life. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at 10:30 AM on August 10, 2015. The Rite of Committal will follow at Villa de Matel Cemetery.
