

Sonia Lewis Kronberg, age 60, was born August 31, 1956 and passed away July 27, 2017. Sonia died peacefully at home with her loved ones at her side. Sonia was a genuine, loving, wonderful woman who was a stranger to no one. She would light up any room with her laugh and her entertaining, friendly personality.
Sonia grew up in Houston and went to Bellaire High School and then on to the University of Texas in Austin to receive her Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors. She was President of the Mortar Board for one term and loved her time at the university. Years later every time she would go to Austin she would have to drive by the tower and sing the UT fight song. Sonia then went into the travel business after college and then later worked with her husband Ronald Kronberg at their family business, Kronberg’s Flags and Flagpoles. Her true passion was with the theatre and acting. She had many years of involvement with Upstage Theatre in its organization and as an actress. She performed in over 30 different performances and had a very large presence in community theatre in Houston. She served as a volunteer at Seven Acres nursing home and for several years was president of their volunteer organization. Recently she had become involved with the theatre program at the Jewish Community Center. Sonia was a lifelong member of Temple Beth Yeshurun.
Sonia is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy Lewis, her brother, Randy Lewis and her uncle, James Lewis. She leaves behind her husband of 37 years, Ronald Kronberg, their daughter, Erin Kronberg Eisemann, and her husband, Bradley Eisemann. In addition she is leaving behind her brothers- in- law, Harvey Kronberg and William Davis, sisters-in-law, Lupe Lewis, Esta Kronberg, and Michele Kronberg, niece, Stefanie Lewis, and many other family and friends.
Sonia was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She will be greatly missed by many. The world was a happier place with her and will be different without her.
The Funeral Service will be held at Temple Beth Yeshurun at 4525 Beechnut St. at 9:00 am Sunday, July 30. Graveside service is for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Seven Acres, or Dress for Success Houston.
