Thomas Louis Kister was born in St. Charles Missouri on April 14, 1922 to Hubert A. Kister and Mary Douglas Kister. He passed away in Houston on April 19, 2021. He was predeceased by wife Dorothy Mitchel Kister, son-in-law Richard A. Holt, sister Ethel Niewig and brother Hubert Kister. He is survived by daughters Patricia(Patsy) K. Holt, Susan K. Reul and husband Dr. George Reul, brother Paul Kister, sisters-in-law Catherine Mitchel and Margaret Kister and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Holt and wife Julie, Matthew Holt and wife Michelle, Sara Holt, Thomas Reul, John Reul and wife Ashton and great grandchildren, Mona Osman, Monica Holt, Matthew Holt, Katherine Holt and Elizabeth Holt.

Tom was in the air-force during WWII, after service he graduated from University of Houston with a masters degree in Geology. He retired young as executive vice president of Templeton Energy. He was a world traveler. Some of his favorite trips included Africa, China and the Galapagos Islands. He enjoyed sports and was sure to root for his Houston teams. He was a master gamesman with a flair for poker and bridge. Always ready for adventure and ready to go. Tom was the patriarch of the family and someone who you could always depend on. He will be cherished and missed.

Rosary will be held on April 25th at 4 P.M. with visitation 4-6:30 at Earthman’s Bellaire funeral home. Funeral Service will take place Monday, April 26th 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Pallbearers are Grandchildren: Michael Holt, Matthew Holt, Sara Holt, Thomas Reul, John Reul, and Kelly Stepanski (Honorary granddaughter)
