Vincent "Vinnie" Robert Rincon

Vincent "Vinnie" Robert Rincon, age 63, of Houston, Texas unexpectedly passed away on August 24, 2026. Robert was born on October 13, 1962 in Houston, Texas to the late Vincent Rincon who sadly passed away on December 4, 2025 and Anita Rincon.

He is survived by his mother, Anita Rincon, sister Sonia Weiner and her husband Jeffrey Weiner. He also leaves two nieces whom he considered his daughters: Ashlyn Weiner and Kristyn Weiner. He was Ashlyn's baptism Godfather.

In 1981, he graduated from Milby High School in Houston, Texas. He enrolled and mastered the trade of air conditioning and refrigeration and worked in the field until he joined the Marine Corps.

Cpl. Vincent Robert Rincon proudly served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps. from December 28, 1982 to December 27, 1985. He loved our country. He completed his bootcamp at 29 Palms, California and was stationed at the Marine Corps. Reserve Support Center in Overland Park, Kansas. While in the service his decorations, medals and badges are as follows: Letter of Appreciation, Good conduct medal and Rifle Marksman badge.

After being honorably discharged, he began working for USPS for a total of 38 years combined at the Memorial Park and Fleetwood postal stations as a mailman in Houston, Texas. He was out delivering mail in the treacherous heat, rain, sleet, and snow. Chased by anti-friendly USPS dogs in the neighborhood. He truly loved his job and ALL his longtime customers. It is evidenced by the stacks of handwritten thank you cards, Christmas cards, customers' children's artwork, and letters found inside his apartment. He truly treasured his customers. He finally retired after 38 years on September 30, 2024. Records show he had a total of 1.6 years of sick leave upon his retirement! Co-workers state he had the best pressed uniform in town. He did not believe in dry cleaners. He pressed his USPS uniforms himself! His Fleetwood station supervisor stated, "He was a hard worker and a delight." He stayed in contact with his fellow postal comrades before, during and after his retirement. One of his main passions were the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. "How 'bout them Cowboys?" he would say. His entire Dallas Cowboys memorabilia could fill the Smithsonian! He flew to their training camps ... no matter the cost. He was also an avid coin and stamp collector.

Let's not forget his two musical Queens: Janet Jackson and Tina Turner. Rob and his sister, Sonia, would rush to the box office to stand in line for paper concert tickets before smartphones. Homage will be paid to Rob and his Queens at his funeral.

His home away from home was glitzy Las Vegas. He and his buddy, Jerry, from the Fleetwood post office flew at least 25 times to Las Vegas to gamble. Rob typically flew out there around his October, 13th birthday and he would spend Super Bowl Sunday there.

After he retired from USPS on September 30, 2024, he enjoyed watching the Houston Astros, Houston Texans and was very engaged into this past summer's FIFA games.

When asked how he was enjoying his retirement his response was, "man ... everyday feels like I am on vacation!"

Remember that I'm with you each morning, noon and night.
