

Virginia Lee Ennis passed away from this life the 15th day of December, 2015 at Houston Hospice in Houston, Texas at the age of 72. Born in Houston at St. Joseph’s Hospital on February 26th, 1943, Virginia was the first of two daughters born to her late parents Rex Roland Ennis and Mary Alice Tamborello along with a younger brother. Virginia was raised in the Meyerland area of Houston and graduated from St. Agnes Academy as part of the Class of 1961.Virginia joined the family insurance business and raised two children, Chad Michael and Jacquelyn Ann.
Virginia was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling, cooking, movie going, helping animals, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Virginia, Ginny, Mom, and New Grandma, a name bestowed upon her by her oldest grandson, Jack, when he was 3 years old given that he had noticed that Ginny’s mother was “Da Old Grandma” to much family laughter.
She is survived by an extended family including: sister, Sharon Ann Ennis Axton (Houston); brother, Gary Lynn Johnson and his wife Yvonne (Nacogdoches); son, Chad Michael Condon Salvata and his wife Bonnie Brooks Cullum (Austin), daughter Jacquelyn Ann Condon Cohn and her husband Donald J. Cohn (Bellaire) and their four children: Jack Garrett, Maryella Fife, Anna Clare, and Joseph Condon; and cousins, Janet Lee Bean (North Carolina), Donald Kirk Leufven (Houston), Van Michael Cawlfield (North Carolina) and many other Tamborello family members.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Houston Hospice for making Virginia’s last few days safe and peaceful. And we wish to thank the loving nursing staff at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital—especially Joy, Barbara, and Tamara.
At Virginia’s request, there will be no visitation services. In lieu of flowers or customary remembrances, Virginia requests that donations be made to Save A Purrfect Cat Rescue at www.saveacatrescue.org.
