I always loved the emails Uncle Weldon occasionally sent me telling stories of his childhood and memories.   May he rest in peace and my prayers are with all of his extended family.

Dad I miss you and love you. I will always remember the good times like the camping and fishing trips as a boy. I remember how crazy I was about the pony rides and you taking me out to let me ride the ponies around in circles for hours. You always tried to take time out of your day and let me have fun at whatever it was I wanted to do. Dad and I in the later years liked to hang out at his house, watch videos, eat out, go to coffee shops and drive around talking about all sorts of stuff. 
I love you Dad and miss you every day.     Shaun

I can shed tears that he is gone or I can smile because he has lived. 
I can close my eyes and pray he would come back or I can open my eyes and see all that he has left. 
My heart can be empty because I can't see him or it can be full of what we shared. 
I can close my mind- be empty- and cry or I can look forward to live- laugh and love others as he always did!
Rest in Peace and be with the Lord.

Weldon was my Dad.  No, he wasn't my biological father; but he was my Dad. We didn't get along at all, when I was growing up.  
But, after I had my 1st child, we had something in common that was wonderful and brought us together...my son's birth and the love that we shared for that little boy.  We grew closer,  I had 3 more children for him to love and began to really love each other and never stopped.  I miss this man with all of my heart and was proud to call him Dad.

Weldon was my double cousin.  We were related on both his mother's side and his dad's side. He was much more than a cousin to me.  He was a special friend. We shared many interests and I always enjoyed talking with him.  He told wonderful stories of his memories of growning up at "Camp Creek" and memories of the family.  He loved his family and was proud of his sons and grandchildren.  Weldon loved music and was a big Elvis fan.  He had a collection of music which he loved to share with people who would listen. We had lots of laughs together.  I am sad that I will not be hearing his voice telling me some tale. Weldon told he he was baptized in Camp Creek by the pastor of Elem Grove Church when he was young. I believe they are celebrating in Heaven and the Hamilton and Meadors family there are having a  music fest to welcome him home. He will always be a special memory in my heart.
