Bill Duffy was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Mac and Isabel Toomey Duffy. He was the middle child, with older sister Adrianne and younger brother Stuart. As a young boy, Bill spent time with his dad enjoying the outdoor life in South Louisiana. He hunted in the swamps and fished in the Gulf. He joined the Sea Scouts as a teenager and learned to love all aspects of boating. He and his buddies made the most of growing up in New Orleans. One of young Bill’s biggest adventures was a solo motorcycle trip from New Orleans to Canada for summer work. Bill graduated from the University of New Orleans and headed to Houston to start his career. He quickly moved into Information Technology in the early, punch card days, and never looked back. He enjoyed his work at Southwest Fabricators, his own consulting firm DM Professional Systems, and American Alloy Steel. Bill was a man of many interests. He was a sailor, a fisherman, a naturalist, a handyman, a cowboy action shooter and a beekeeper. He loved nature and took great pride in being the steward of his 40 acres of Heaven – the CedarBark Ranch and Apiary. Bill was a kind, curious and intelligent man. His wife Susan was blessed to share a wonderful life with Bill filled with love and adventure. Bill will be missed by his brother Stuart and sister-in-law Laura, all of his Pilney family, his cowboy posse of Darksiders, his Willowbend neighbors and everyone who touched his life and whose lives he touched. Happy trails to a one-in-a-million man.

I’ll always remember Bill patiently waiting up for us to come in from one of the many agility trials we attended all over the state. He was so kind to help us get our gear unloaded and to be sure I got off safely to Angleton.

I can’t imagine how you feel, but just know that. You don’t have to do it alone. You have so many friends who care, so just call us.

I was so happy that Bill was able to meet my son Beck.

In every memory I have of Bill he is either smiling or laughing. We will miss him forever.

Susan, I wish there were something I could do to help you through this. The best I can do is tell you that you will make it.
