

Alfred was a retired Computer Specialist with IBM and retired from Wetterau , where he ran their service department for their scanners for the Shop-N- Save Stores. He was a good loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He played the violin up until the 1990’s , he was a church musician , sang in the church choir. He was a member of the Senior Olympics from 1997 until 2011, he competed in the 50 meter, 100 meter and the 200 relay. Alfred was a long time member of the First Assembly of God, Belleville, Illinois
Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, LaVona M., nee Long, Witt, who died on August 10, 1993; parents, Alfred M. and Pearl E., nee Davidson, Witt.
Surviving are his children, Charles Eugene (Judith) Witt of Valparaiso, Indiana and Karen Jeannette (Paul) Hinton of Glen Carbon, Illinois; grandchildren, Alexandra (Dominic) Swanson, Leah (Christian) Heil, Sarah (Billy Ray) Norton, Deborah (Timothy) Heaton and Joanna (Robert) Rahn; great grandchildren, Timothy Heil, Bethany Heil, Trinity Heil, Sierra Hinton, Kadie Mega, Jasmynn Hale, William Heaton, Natalie Heaton, Troy Rahn, Brady Rahn and Connor Swanson.
