Anna “Toni” A. Brendel

Toni was born February 26, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to John C. and Anna (Dagelmann) Fischer. They preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Doctor Richard T. “Dick” Brendel in 2020; and brother Karl Fischer, brother-in-law Paul Brendel and sisters-in-law, Nina Brendel and Wilma Fischer.

Toni is survived by her brother, John Fischer of St. Louis, Missouri; loving children, Martha (Bruce) Burris of Fishers, Indiana, Elizabeth Brendel of Belleville, Illinois, Richard P. Brendel of St. Louis, Missouri, and John (Ann) Brendel of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Brian (Jillian) Nelson, Brett (Rachel) Nelson, Jaimee (Jenny) Burris, Kristina (Colby) Crook, Mary Ellen Buehlhorn, Austin Brendel, and Thomas J. Brendel; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Piper, Michael, David, Jacob, Eliza, Fletcher, Kelsey, Carson, Haley, and Olivia; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends.

Toni and Dick were both faithful members of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Belleville. Toni was a preschool teacher's assistant and volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved animals, children, playing games with friends and family, and desserts! Her life and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She will truly be missed.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Belleville, IL.

A funeral service for Toni will be held at 12:00 P.M. at the church. Final interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville.
