Barbara Jean Mueller

Barb was born February 2, 1957 in E. St. Louis, IL to John “Jack” and Roberta (Leiner) Meehan.

She married Barry Lee Mueller on February 27, 1982; he preceded her in death on July 2, 2024.

She was also preceded in death by her father, Jack Meehan and a son, Freddie Mueller, and a daughter, Widget Mueller.

Barb is survived by her sons, Brian J. (Emily) Mueller of Ballwin, MO, Brett D. (Emma) Mueller of Normal, IL, Blake T. Mueller of Columbia, IL; her mother, Roberta Meehan of Waterloo, IL; three granddaughters, Frances Mueller, Rosalie Mueller, and Harper Shaw; siblings, Mike Meehan of Belleville, IL, Tim Meehan of Waterloo, IL, Richard Meehan of St. Louis, MO, Dave (Karen) Meehan of Waterloo, IL; her beloved dog, Milo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Barb spent 45 years as a registered nurse, caring for others at Belleville Memorial Hospital. Her work was a ministry, leading her to care for others, but also making friendships that lasted her lifetime.

Throughout her childhood, she attended Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Belleville, and most recently was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, IL.

She and Barry always enjoyed their time together at their second home in Florida. She always loved watching the beautiful sunsets.

Above all else, Barb loved her family. Her sons and grandchildren brought her endless joy, memories and laughter. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Barb will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Belleville, IL.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Belleville, IL.

Final interment will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.

Memorial donations in Barb’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
