Miss Billie Marie Satterfield, 89, of Swansea, Illinois born August 21, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Swansea Rehab and Care Center, Swansea, Illinois. Billie was a writer for many magazines, she wrote speeches for Eleanor Roosevelt. She received her Master Degree from the University of Illinois,Champaign, Illinois with a degree in Medieval Literature. She was a Former member of Weston Baptist Church, East St. Louis, Illinois.
Miss Satterfield is preceded in death by her parents, William Orland and Marie Louise,nee Redfield, Satterfield; brother, Robert Griffing Satterfield; sister in law, Marian, nee McDonald, Satterfield,
Surviving are her Niece, Robin Griffing Satterfield - Beckman (James) of St. Louis, Missouri; nephews, Marcus Edmund Satterfield (Shelia) of Belleville, Illinois and Myles Orland Satterfield of Belleville, Illinois; Great Nieces, Magdalene Griffing Beckman, Anna Marie Satterfield and Katherine Lynn Satterfield.
