

Bonnie was born October 29, 1946 in Mitchell, IN to Clifford and Orpha (Tincher) Edwards. They preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by sister, Hazel "Sug" Beasley and her brother, Emory "Bud" Edwards; and brothers-in-law, Jim Lewis, John Pfeiffer and Roy Lamb..
Bonnie is survived by her loving family, including her children, Laura (Rick) Sims, Melissa Nungesser (Micheal Saathoff), Daniel Siebert, and Michael Siebert (Erin Perez); grandchildren, Alexander (Mercedes) Sims, Emily Sims (fiancé, Andrew Anderson), Micah Nungesser (Sage Hayes), Matthew Nungesser, Dylan Siebert, Megan Siebert; great-grandchildren, Elijah Sims, Rebekah Sims, and Lydia Anderson; and siblings, Bertha “Sis” Pfeiffer of Mascoutah, IL, June Lamb of Bedford, IN, Helen Lewis of Mitchell, IN; and sister-in-law Emma “Carol” Edwards of Patoka, IL.
Her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she had a natural way of connecting with them—especially babies, who always seemed drawn to her gentle, loving spirit.
Bonnie loved camping and being outdoors. She had a special gift for making friends wherever she went, especially around the campground, where her cheerful personality and kind heart made her a friend to many. Whether she was sitting by the campfire, sharing stories, or offering a helping hand, she made everyone feel like family.
Music was a constant part of her life. She loved to sing, play the keyboard, and dance with Programs and Services for Older Persons (PSOP) of Belleville, IL, often filling the room with songs and smiles. Her love for animals was deep and genuine, especially for her beloved cat, Izzy, who was her faithful companion.
A talented cook and baker, she was known for her famous banana bread, which was always shared with friends and family alike. She celebrated every holiday with enthusiasm, but Christmas was her absolute favorite—her joy and excitement made the season magical for everyone around her.
Above all, she loved her family deeply and was endlessly proud of her grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and love will forever live on in their hearts.
A visitation for Bonnie will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2:00 P.M.- 4:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
A funeral service will be held Monday, November 17, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Final interment will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL. Bonnie’s brother-in-law, Pastor Kenny Beasley will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to Mascoutah Food Pantry, 17 W. Main Street, Mascoutah, IL, 62258. Donations may be given at the funeral home.
