

Pete was born December 6, 1942 in East St. Louis, IL to Carl J. and Marie J. (Burnett) Gold.
He married Loretta Fischer on December 31, 1960. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2020.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Jenny Koch and Deana Nealon; sister, Sherry Alexander; and niece, Brandi Riggs.
Pete is survived by his children, Mike Gold (Jeff Fei), Pam Gold and Dawn (Vincent) Turnipseed; five grandchildren, John (Chloe) Stoffel, Chelsea (Daniel) Erickson, Tori (Ryan) Simmons, Brett Nealon and Crissy (Jared) Jones; great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Liam Erickson, Ellie Stoffel, and Jesse Simmons; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pete worked as dockhand for the Teamsters and was devoted to his job for many years. After retiring, he enjoyed the simpler things that life had to offer. He loved camping, fishing, and mowing his grass. He also worked at the Wash ‘N Go in Columbia, where he became a familiar face and friend to many customers each time they would come through the car wash.
Most of all, Pete loved his family and cherished the time they spent together. He will be remembered for his hard work, friendly nature, and the kindness he shared with those around him.
A visitation for Pete will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 11:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
A funeral service will follow, at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, alongside his beloved wife, Loretta.
Memorial donations may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
