

Clarence lived a long, joyful, and fulfilling life. He enjoyed the outdoors, and he carried a lifetime of knowledge and stories and shared his wisdom with all who would listen. He most recently resided at The Colonnade in O’Fallon, where he was warmly regarded by staff and residents alike.
A proud veteran, Clarence served his country in the United States Navy, after high school entering cadet flight school from 1944 to 1947. He then dedicated 40 years to Illinois Power Company, where he worked as a clerk engineer.
Clarence was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Anna Louise Wolf (née Shubirg); his parents, Anton and Elma Wolff (née Voges); his sisters, Lela Extrait (née Wolf) and Ardelle Eckert (née Wolf); his nephew, Tracy Hartman, niece, Claudia Halstead (née Extrait), his grandson, Matthew Cook, and great grandson, Nicholas Cook.
He is survived by his children: Douglas Wolf, Debra (Richard) Koehler, and Sandra (Tom) Cook; seven grandchildren: Danielle (Timothy) Dinsmore, Drew (Kelsey) Wolf, Sherry Koehler, Dawn Cook, Kim Cook (Dave Starich), Connie Cook, and Molly Cook; and eight great-grandchildren: Madeline Graham, Josie Graham, Devin Cook, Aaleyiah Koehler, Lennon Dinsmore, Dawson Wolf, Katy Graham, and Lauren (Joe) Ferrera.
He is also survived by his niece, Royann Touchette; nephews, Randy Eckert, David Extrait, and Roger Hartman; and his cherished sister, Erna Hartman, with whom he shared a lifelong bond.
Clarence will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering loyalty to family, and the strength he carried throughout his life. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9:30am - 11:00am Friday, November 28, 2025, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway, Belleville, Illinois 62223.
The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00am.
