Dana M. McCrary

Dana graduated from Pinckneyville HS. She was a doting wife and a proud stay at home mother. When she wasn’t tending to her home and her children, she enjoyed gardening, bowling, painting, knitting, crocheting, getting lunch with friends and water aerobics at the YMCA. Above all else, Dana treasured spending time with her family and especially enjoyed “walkies” with her darling grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, William “Bill” McCrary; son, Daniel McCrary; parents, Orville and Pearl Sutton; plus her brothers and sisters.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons, David (Rosie) McCrary, Dale McCrary and Doug (Debbie) McCrary; daughter-in-law, Debra McCrary; grandchildren, Jacob (Amy) McCrary, Tyler (Gayle) McCrary, Andrew McCrary, Daniel (Bria) McCrary Jr., Daron (Erica) McCrary, Donovan (Jessie) McCrary, Eric (Emily) McCrary, Kelly (Tanner) Search; great-grandchildren, Heidi, Henry, Herbert, Delaney, Dylan, Ian, Ava, Riley, Tatum, Turner, Trevor, Brody and Mya; plus countless friends and extended family. She was a strong willed and loving woman who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank her caregiver Janet and the staff of Memorial Hospital for the excellent care and compassion they provided Dana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to BJC Hospice.

A private memorial service will take place at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home followed by inurnment at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL at a later date.
