

Debbie was born February 22, 1956 in Du Quoin, IL to Alvin Edward and Norma J. (Wells) Burleson.
Her father, Alvin preceded her in death as well as her brother-in-law, Denny Counsell.
Debbie married Dennis Jackson on June 25, 1977 in Belleville, IL. Together, they shared 48 years of marriage. Dennis survives and resides in Belleville, IL.
Also surviving is her mother, Norma Burleson of Belleville, IL; her daughter, Kimberly (Thomas) Weber of Belleville, IL; grandsons, James, Henry and Alex Weber, all of Belleville, IL; siblings, Deloris Counsell of Belleville, IL, Dian (Mike) Proffitt of Belleville, IL, Alan (Cheryl) Burleson of Alabama and Barbara (Gordon) Jenkins of Belleville, IL; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Debbie was devoted to the church and active in many church ministries throughout her life. A talented seamstress in the Belleville area, she lovingly altered countless wedding and bridesmaids’ dresses and managed a local fabric store for several years. Her generous heart shone through her work with Operation Christmas Child and in her gift for crochet—creating hundreds of hats over the years, including 365 especially for cancer patients. Known for her kindness and welcoming spirit, Debbie truly ever met a stranger and was a friend to all. Her loving heart and love for others will be missed, but never forgotten.
A visitation for Debbie will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene in Belleville, IL.
A funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. Final interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Belleville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene in Belleville, IL.
