Deborah was born on July 20th, 1952, in East St. Louis, IL to Raoul and Maxine Stanley. Deborah will be remembered for her fierce loyalty and love for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with them and celebrating many occasions and accomplishments. She also loved to travel with her husband, two children, her mother, and trips with friends. From camping trips and to visiting fun destinations, she loved to explore new places.
Deborah also loved her church, reading, cross stitching, and riding her scooter. She cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren and her great-grandchild.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Kirk Sr.) League and Matthew (Robin) Pokojski, grandchildren, Kelsey (Shane) Stapel, Kaleb (Kali McFadden) Pokojski (Kali McFadden) and Kirk League Jr., and her great-grandchild, Rudy Stapel, as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Pokojski; parents, Raoul and Maxine Stanley and brother, Gary Stanley Sr.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
A memorial service for Deborah will be held following the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Final interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL, alongside her beloved husband, Anthony.
