Donald Joseph Davidson, 82, born September 2, 1931 in Hubbard, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, Illinois with his family at his side. Mr. Davidson was a retired veteran with the United States Air Force. He also, was a retired cook for the St. Clair County Jail. Donald was a member of the Belleville Lions Club and the Swansea Improvement Association. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene, nee Klott, Davidson who passed away on October 23, 2007; parents, Everett and Flora, Nee Lawson, Davidson, and eight brothers and sisters. Surviving are his loving children, Dennis (Vickie) Davidson, Donna (Lewis) Deutschmann, Dianne Davidson, Debora Wodsedalek and Dee (Edgar) Brockhahn, III.; grandchildren, Patricia Deutschmann, Bryan (Geneva) Deutschmann, Adam (Tabitha) Davidson and Brandon Brockhahn; great grandchildren, Haley Haas, Emma Deutschmann, Jayse Davidson and Baby Deutschmann on the way. Siblings, Kenneth Ray (Ann) Davidson, Lois Miller, Shelda Byers and Joan Charles; sister in law, Gayle (Doug) Hassell. Also, survived by other relatives, family and friends. Memorials in Donald’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of Southern Illinois or the American Diabetes Association. Online condolences may be expressed online at Visitation: friends may call on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. Service: Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Monsignor Bill McGhee officiating Interment will be held in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.
