Throughout her life, Dot found joy in the simple things—her garden, her yard, and cooking. She took great pride in her flowers and the beauty she created outdoors, spending countless happy hours tending to her yard.
She was involved with the St. Clair County Historical Society, St. Clair Genealogical Society and spent hours making Rouladen at Fischer's Restaurant with the Belleville Sister Cities.
She was best known for her famous “Grandma’s Cookies,” a treat that brought smiles to everyone who tasted them. Her warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in their hearts forever.
Private family services will be held under the direction of Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Final interment will take place next to her husband, Adolph, at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
