Dorothy was a graduate of St. Teresa’s Academy, East Saint Louis. She loved lunches with her STA girls, long walks, the Rocky Mountains, good books, classical musical, and most of all, children. Dorothy worked for many years at the Extended Care Program at St. Albert the Great Catholic School and was a surrogate grandma to many children. She was a long-time member and active volunteer at St. Clare Catholic Church, O’Fallon, IL, and prior, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Caseyville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Matthew Landgraf, whom she married October 30, 1947, and who died on May 12, 1985; an infant daughter, Joan; her parents, John E. and Anna Maria White; her sisters Sr. Mary Stephen, ASC ( Marion), Ruth Eagles, Eleanor Wilson, and Virginia Clark; and her brothers Robert White and Thomas White.
Surviving are her daughters Nora Landgraf (Gerald Gutzler), of Swansea, IL; Nancy (Michael) Jordan, of New York, New York; and Judith Landgraf of New York, New York; grandchildren Kimberly Jeanne Perry, Matthew Leo Perry, and Grace Elizabeth Jordan; a sister, Rosemary ( J. Dewey) Holten; a brother, Richard ( Janet), White, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorials are appreciated to Catholic Urban Programs, East St. Louis IL, St. Clare Catholic School, O’Fallon, IL, or Holy Trinity Catholic School, Fairview Heights, IL, and will be accepted at the visitation. Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., November 25, 2013 at St. Clare Catholic Church, O’Fallon, IL. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
