Dorothy M. Meloan

Dorothy was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. She was a certified physical education instructor volunteer at Cathedral Grade School for over 20 years. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Pop" E. Meloan; her parents, William and Margaret, nee Pickford, Heely; two sisters, Margie Heely and Jane (James) Campbell; a sister-in-law, Betty Heely; and a brother, Darwin Heely.

Surviving are her son, Michael Meloan of Belleville, Ill.; three daughters, Alanna (Larry) Madorin of Sorento, Ill., Stacy (Phillip) Komoromi of Belleville, Ill., and Trudy (Gary) McCree of Herrin, Ill.; grandchildren, Aaron (Tara) Meloan, Adam Meloan, Molly Madorin, Connie Madorin, Ashleigh McCree and Christopher McCree; great-grandchildren, Memphis Meloan, Jeffery Madorin and Aleigha Brown; a brother, William "Bud" Heely; a sister-in-law, Batrice Heely; and many loving extended family and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, and 10 a.m. to noon Friday, March 4, 2011, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at St Peter's Catholic Cathedral Belleville, Ill. Interment will be held in Greenmount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
